Baton Rouge, LA – May 29, 2025— In what many are calling the most astonishing recruiting decision in modern college sports history, Amanda Rizzi the No. 1-ranked girls’ basketball prospect in the United States — and a towering 8.5-foot-tall phenomenon — has officially committed to the LSU Tigers women’s basketball team turning down offers from both the Tennessee Volunteers and the University of Georgia Bulldogs.

The announcement was made live on ESPN, where Rizzi, surrounded by family, teammates, and cameras, donned an LSU cap and held up a jersey emblazoned with her future number: 34.
