BREAKING NEWS: Saints DT Nathan Shepherd Wins NFL Appeal Just Now…see detail…

In a surprising turn of events, the National Football League (NFL) has rescinded its fine against New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Nathan Shepherd. The fine, which totaled over $11,000, was levied against Shepherd for an unnecessary roughness penalty called during the Saints’ Week 8 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The incident in question occurred at the 7:45 mark of the second quarter, when Shepherd was flagged for a low hit on Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert. However, an offsetting penalty was also called on Chargers offensive lineman Bradley Bozeman, who retaliated against Shepherd for the perceived cheap shot.

Despite the offsetting penalty, the NFL initially fined Shepherd for the unnecessary roughness infraction. However, after an appeal by Shepherd and the Saints, the league has opted to rescind the fine.

The decision is a significant victory for Shepherd, who has been an important contributor to the Saints’ defensive line this season. Through 11 games, the 31-year-old defensive tackle has recorded a half sack, seven pressures, and three tackles for loss among 27 total tackles.

Shepherd, who is in his seventh NFL season and second with the Saints, was drafted by the New York Jets in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Fort Hays State.
