Oct. 2, SEOUL (Yonhap) — The lone annual LPGA Tour event in South Korea later this month will include the world’s top player, Nelly Korda, and the current Olympic winner, Lydia Ko, according to tournament organizers on Wednesday.

Korda will compete for the second year in a row at Seowon Hills at Seowon Valley Country Club in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, according to officials for the October 17–20 BMW Ladies Championship. With six wins this season, including her second career major triumph at the Chevron Championship in April, the American sensation is leading the tour. Korda’s run of six victories, which included four straight, occurred in the first half of the year. Third-ranked Kiwi Ko, who was born in Korea, has been one of the most dominant players of the second half of the season. She won the gold medal at the Olympics in Paris, followed by her third major victory at the AIG Women’s Open in August, and then another championship in September.

Amy Yang, who captured her first major championship at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in June, and Ryu Hae-ran, who became the first-ever FM Championship winner earlier this month, will be among the South Korean contingent. Ayaka Furue of Japan and Yuka Saso, two other significant champions from this season, will also compete at the BMW event. At Seowon Hills, Australian celebrity Minjee Lee, who is of Korean descent, will try to retain her championship.
