Paul Finebaum offers a pessimistic assessment of Auburn football in today’s Auburn Tigers News, and Payton Thorne discusses his pick-six against Oklahoma.

Everyone is aware that Auburn football has had a difficult five weeks. It was hoped that the Tigers, primed for a challenging matchup against the Dawgs, would arrive in Athens having won five straight games. All Auburn fans can hope for right now is that they avoid embarrassment (again).

Regretfully, analyst Paul Finebaum advises against raising expectations for Tiger supporters. Auburn football’s easiest games are mostly in the past, therefore they will need to pull off a major shock to increase their record of wins.

“I hate to say that I was impressed, but there were a lot of things about what I saw that I liked. The schedule is just too much to overcome. Before the Georgia game in July, I honestly believed they would be unbeaten. They have already suffered three losses, and in order to have even a passable season, they will need to pull off some incredible upsets. I do not believe that is feasible.
