WCIV — LOWCOUNTRY, S.C. The National Weather Service reports that a tornado warning is in effect for Charleston and Colleton Counties as of early Friday morning.
WCIV — EDISTO BEACH, S.C. Although Edisto Beach locals would tell you that the current weather—choppy surf and heavy rain—is already here, they have become accustomed to it. To put it mildly, the locals and the companies are resilient. During Tropical Storm, a local landmark in Edisto sustained significant damage. The tour that Debby took through the Lowcountry resulted in a solitary tornado. It severely damaged the building’s interior, destroying almost all of the electronics and air conditioners in addition to almost the whole roof. They succeeded in rebuilding and opening up again. While they wait for the next storm to approach, everything is going as usual.
It has a boundary with it. Because of its extreme resilience, the building itself withstood Hurricane Hugo, which struck South Carolina directly. Although the building is sturdy, what occurred to us during the most recent storm was unprecedented.
