RENO, NV (KOLO) – A coyote on USA Parkway bit a man in the leg, necessitating his hospitalization. Alex Pheneger was at a work site at Switch off USA Parkway just before 6:00 a.m. on Monday, according to the Nevada Department of Wildlife. He reported to wildlife officials that he felt a bite on the back of his left thigh, so he got out of his car and grabbed some tools. And he looked back to see a coyote. After being brought to the hospital, Pheneger received treatment for the bite.
When the Nevada Department of Wildlife’s game warden arrived on the scene, he was informed that the coyotes were being fed by the workers. On the same day, another report revealed that a coyote had bitten one of the workers’ pants legs, however the bite did not come into contact with the skin. Three coyotes on the job site were killed by guards because they were attacking people. They were submitted to the state lab to be screened for rabies.
