Kai Lohmann, a teenage player for the Brisbane Lions, shown a lot of cheek following his team’s thrilling victory in the preliminary final on Saturday.

Once he took the mic from Channel 7, a giddy Lohmann was full of energy and enthusiasm as he spoke with the AFL greats Luke Hodge and Dale Thomas, as well as icon Bruce McAvaney.

After an incredible preliminary victory, Kai Lohmann talks to Seven in the video above.

Having managed just six appearances the previous year, Lohmann has seized his chance this season, playing 25 games so far.

In the thrilling 10-point victory over Geelong, the 21-year-old had yet another outstanding performance, hitting a goal and taking a fantastic mark.

“I am really excited right now. I am sure I will say something dumb. “I will keep it clean, but going out is the nicest thing I have ever done,” he said to Channel 7.

“I believed I was the reason we arrived late—I missed a sitter (kick on goal).” He prodded Hodge and said, “Practice over the week, Hodgey, what do you reckon?”
