It is hardly shocking that Alabama has the most college representation in the NFL for the 2024 season.

For many years, the Crimson Tide produced football players of the highest caliber. The dominant program not only wins a ton of games in the NCAA, but its athletes also succeed in the pros.

Prior to head coach Kalen DeBoer taking over this season, Nick Saban was assisting in the development of first-round, NFL-ready players. The quarterback position, though, was not translating as well as it should have.

Recent seasons have seen a change in that. Three quarterbacks from Alabama have been drafted in the first round and one in the second round since 2020. That is a minor departure from Alabama’s steady supply of outstanding linebackers and strong running backs.

NFL 2024: Alabama quarterbacks

Four quarterbacks who attended Alabama are now on NFL rosters: Jalen Hurts of the Eagles, Tua Tagovailoa of the Dolphins, Bryce Young of the Panthers, and Mac Jones of the Jaguars.

Eagles’ Jalen Hurts

Hurts, who did not play for the Crimson Tide when he was drafted, has been the most successful quarterback in the league to date to come out of Alabama. Hurts played a season at Oklahoma before the Eagles selected him in the second round of the 2020 draft. After three years with the Crimson Tide, he had lost the starting job to Tagovailoa, which is what prompted the Sooners to sign him.

Since 2021, he has started every game for Philadelphia, defeating Carson Wentz in the process. He is appeared in two Super Bowls and won two Pro Bowls since then. With 15 rushing touchdowns in 2023, he is tied for the NFL record for most touchdowns by a quarterback.

Despite being chosen in the same draft as Hurts, Tagovailoa did not have to wait long to hear his name mentioned. Miami selected him with the fifth overall pick, and he immediately star

ted for the team in 2020.
