Heart break: Kyle Larson finally disagree to remain at Hendrick due to…… more details ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
Following the Go Bowling at The Glen at Watkins Glen on Sunday, Martin Truex Jr. appeared to take a jab at Kyle Larson.
Truex felt like he was run over late in the race and did not enjoy it, capping off another dismal effort in a season full of them
The fact that all these races constantly come down to this is absolutely absurd, Truex remarked. “I find it hard to believe that guys who simply blow past everyone on restarts at the conclusion of these races can call themselves the greatest in the world.” I am leaving because, although extremely annoying, this is the way things are these days.
For Truex, who came in 20th at Watkins Glen, the frustration is getting worse. After winning Stage 1, he showed early speed but lost ground to other competitors. Truex is currently 14 points below the cutline heading into Bristol on Saturday, putting him in jeopardy of missing out on the Round of 12 coming into Watkins Glen. That might put him in a scenario where he needs to win, which is something he hasn’t experienced in his last full-season Cup Series campaign. Truex’s figures are alarming and uncharacteristic of everything he has shown us since he has been with Joe Gibbs Racing. In addition to having not won any of the previous 28 races, he has only finished in the top-10 once, at Nashville in late June, and hasn’t finished in the top five since Kansas in early May.
