At a ceremony on December 3, Queen Latifah, Dionne Warwick, and Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees were among the 2023 Kennedy Center honorees. This is the John F. The show’s footage has been made public by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. This year’s ceremony in Washington, D.C., honors exceptional lifetime contributions to the arts and is hosted by Gloria Estefan, who received the award in 2017. Missy Elliott, Chloe Bailey, and Gladys Knight paid their respects to an audience that included the president and first lady. Renée Fleming, an opera singer, and Billy Crystal rounded out the class of this year’s awards. Below, check out performances and short clips. Gladys Knight, Chloe Bailey, and Cynthia Erivo all performed songs from Warwick’s long and illustrious discography, and Ego Nwodim of Saturday Night Live and 2020 honoree Debbie Allen gave speeches in his honor. Erivo sang “Alfie,” Bailey performed “Walk On By,” and Knight selected “Say a Little Prayer.” Current Trends Rate Being Emo, Pink Floyd, and Crazy Frog at the Better Oblivion Community Center. A Michael Bublé cover of “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart?” was included in Gibb’s tribute. and the rendition of “Lonely Days, Lonely Nights” by Little Big Town. Ariana DeBose performed a medley of Bee Gees songs, including “How Deep Is Your Love” and “Stayin’ Alive,” while Ben Platt sang “Nights on Broadway.”
