Tempers were flaring at the Cook Out Southern 500. Despite almost 23 places separating Chase Briscoe and Austin Cindric, the two Ford drivers were subjected to behind-the-scenes drama at Darlington Raceway. As they weren’t racing against each other, the expectation from Cindric, particularly from Briscoe’s crew chief Richard Boswell was to assist the No. 14 Ford Mustang, which was running in second place at that time.
