While Israel claims significant damage to Hezbollah’s military capabilities, the group continues to retaliate with hundreds of rockets and drones targeting northern Israel, including the coastal city of Atlit and the northern hills near Safed, causing fires and minor damage.
Amid the strikes, Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported that the death toll from Israeli bombardments has risen to 569, with over 1,800 wounded. Many of the victims, the ministry says, are civilians, including 94 women and 50 children, adding to the growing humanitarian crisis. The UN United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees confirmed that two of its staff members, along with their families, were killed in the attacks. “The toll on civilians is unacceptable,” said UNHCR spokesperson Matthew Saltmarsh, echoing widespread condemnation of the escalating conflict.
