The analysis, conducted by the Birmingham Regional Visitors Authority (BRVA), revealed that Villa Park welcomed 148,000 attendees across the June 6–7 weekend, including more than 54,000 visitors traveling from outside Birmingham. Officials confirmed it marked one of the most financially impactful sporting weekends the city has hosted in decades, rivalling international events and concerts.

The club transformed Villa Park into a festival-like football theatre, blending its historic traditions with modern entertainment that reached far beyond the pitch. A Boost for Birmingham’s Economy

 

City officials praised Aston Villa’s contribution, highlighting how local businesses — from hotels and restaurants to transport providers and shops — benefited from the influx of fans. Restaurants in the city centre reported being fully booked, while local taxi and ride-hailing services noted sharp spikes in demand. Merchandising sales from Aston Villa’s official stores also soared, as fans queued for hours to secure limited-edition memorabilia released specifically for the weekend.

The BRVA’s report showed attendees traveled from across the U.K. and abroad. Supporters from Spain, the United States, and even parts of Asia made the trip to Birmingham, demonstrating Aston Villa’s growing global pull.
