Orioles sign former Angels top prospect after offseason DFA…
The Baltimore Orioles have signed outfielder Jordyn Adams to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Adams, 25, was the Los Angeles Angels’ first-round pick in the 2018 MLB Draft. Despite his early promise, he was designated for assignment by the Angels in November 2024 and became a free agent after being non-tendered.
Adams made his major league debut with the Angels in August 2023 but struggled to find consistency at the plate. In 17 games during his rookie season, he posted a batting average of .128. In the 2024 season, he appeared in 11 games, batting .229 with one home run and four RBIs.
Known for his exceptional speed and athleticism, Adams has the potential to be a valuable asset in the outfield and on the basepaths. His signing adds depth to the Orioles’ outfield options as they prepare for the upcoming season. Adams will have the opportunity to compete for a spot on the major league roster during spring training.
