The Rangers are interested in trading Nathaniel Lowe…

The Texas Rangers are reportedly considering trading first baseman Nathaniel Lowe, a move influenced by several factors. Lowe, 29, is projected to earn approximately $10.7 million through arbitration this offseason. This salary increase comes as the Rangers aim to manage payroll and stay under the luxury tax threshold.

Additionally, the Rangers recently acquired infielder Jake Burger, which could make Lowe more expendable. Lowe has been a consistent offensive contributor for Texas, posting a .276/.359/.440 slash line over the past three seasons and earning a Gold Glove award in 2023.

Potential trade partners include teams seeking to bolster their first base position. The New York Yankees, for instance, are exploring options to replace Anthony Rizzo and have shown interest in players like Lowe.

While trading Lowe would free up salary space and potentially address other roster needs, it would also mean losing a reliable left-handed bat and defensive asset. The Rangers will need to weigh these considerations carefully as they navigate the offseason.
