Baltimore Has Lost 11 Players to Transfer Portal Amid CFP Preparation…
The Tennessee Volunteers, currently preparing for their College Football Playoff (CFP) matchup against Ohio State, have experienced the departure of 11 players via the transfer portal. This exodus includes wide receivers Nathan Leacock, Nate Spillman, and Kaleb Webb; running backs Cameron Seldon and Khalifa Keith; tight end Luke Shouse; quarterback Ryan Damron; linebacker Jalen Smith; cornerback Jordan Matthews; offensive lineman Vysen Lang; and wide receiver Chas Nimrod.
While most of these players were not primary contributors during the regular season, their exits reduce the team’s depth as they approach the CFP. For instance, Nathan Leacock, a four-star prospect, had limited playing time with just one catch this year, and Kaleb Webb recorded six catches over five games. The departures of Seldon and Keith, each having rushed for over 100 yards and a touchdown this season, further impact the team’s offensive options.
The timing of these transfers coincides with the NCAA’s designated transfer portal window, which requires players to enter the portal by December 28 or wait until April 16. This schedule presents challenges for teams in postseason play, as they must balance preparation for critical games with the management of roster changes.
Despite these roster adjustments, the Volunteers remain focused on their upcoming game against Ohio State, aiming to advance further in the CFP.
