PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WVLT) – More than 40,000 people came to Pigeon Forge for the National Quartet Convention Wednesday.
The top gospel music artists perform fan favorites at the Le Conte Center.
For fans who attend every year, it’s like one big family.
They are like our family, because even throughout the year, we do different things with them,” one fan said. “And so we so look forward to coming here and just being with everybody at once.
Executive Director Clarke Beasley said the convention center is the perfect space for what the convention needs.
“The music with what Dollywood was doing,” Beasley said. “Some of our record companies are located in and around here, but until the Lacan Center was built, there wasn’t a venue that made sense.”
He said 40,000 people attended from half a dozen countries, all staying in Pigeon Forge.
“People want to come here to vacation anyway and to join in with all the other things there is to see and do in this area, and then they get to see gospel music on top of it. It’s just, it’s been a great experience,” Beasley said.
