Texas’s Frisco Trevon Diggs, a cornerback with the Dallas Cowboys, couldn’t help himself. Before the Sept. 8 season opener versus the Cleveland Browns, feelings were running high. His facemask and helmet shielded his eyes, but as they swung back and forth, his head was buried on Harris’s shoulder. Now, it hits Diggs, who isn’t renowned for expressing his emotions, on a lovely September day at Cleveland’s Huntington Bank Field, which is only a short throw from Lake Erie. “I didn’t feel it until I was actually out there,” Diggs stated. “It was, ‘Whoa, I’m here again.'” Yes, I found it to be really emotional.” Diggs demonstrated that he was not only back, but that he appeared to have never left after spending a significant amount of time away on a solitary quest to prove he was still among the NFL’s greatest cornerbacks and deserving of the Pro Bowl position he had before the injury.

The Cowboys were leading by 23 points with 9:06 remaining in the fourth quarter when Diggs intercepted a Deshaun Watson throw that got through Elijah Moore’s hands.
